Power System Studies

The following listing is intended to give an overview of the variety of projects accomplished by Quadrelec Engineering. It is by no means comprehensive. Many of the coordination studies were later used for Arc Flash Hazard analysis.

Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Protective Device Analysis Study

Owner:     USACE Tulsa District and the Hydroelectric Design Center, Portland Oregon
Description:

System studies for hydropower plants consisting of vertical and slant axis turbine generators. Studies were part of a major rehab or generator uprate projects. Studies became de facto standards for other similar studies.

Powerhouses studied include:

Webbers Falls Powerhouse,

Denison Dam Powerhouse,

Table Rock Dam Powerhouse,

Ft. Gibson Dam and  Powerhouse,

Keystone Dam and Powerhouse

Eufaula Dam and Powerhouse

Broken Bow Powerhouse

Tenkiller Dam and Powerhouse

Robert S. Kerr Lock, Dam, and Powerhouse

Arc Flash Study

Owner:     Green Country Energy, LLC, Tulsa,OK
Description:

Arc Flash Hazard study for a 680+ MW combined cycle generation plant. Included the 5-year follow-up study.

Owner:     U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Description:

Arc Flash Hazard studies for 217 sites including hydroelectric generation plants, reservoir control structures, navigation locks, parks, and office facilites

Protective Device Coordination Study
Owner:    U.S. Air Force, Lajes Field, Portugal
